My name is Noman Sayed Afghan/British. We sell Afghan handmade kiilm rugs and cushion covers woven by trained and experienced women at homes or in the factory in Afghanistan.
I first visited Afghanistan in 2009, after completing my education from Sheffield Hallam University. As part of my job and ambition was focused on improving the lives of women. I was particularly interested in women’s economic empowerment, and my initial thought was to create a business around some sort of product that Afghan women could manufacture and we could sell for a cause to the world.
Afghanistan has a rich history of carpet weaving, and most of the work is done by women in their homes.
