The Swiss Family Robinson by Johann David Wyss: New
    06 Apr, 2021
    Unabridged, With Great Illustrations
Having read the book previously, I already knew its contents were outstanding. This book is the unabridged original version, which I specifically wanted. Also, the woodcut illustrations, although few, are outstanding. You won't be sorry if you buy this version of the book.
Fiddler on the Roof Library Binding Joseph Stein

A musical tragedy that contains a lot of comedy
"Fiddler on the Roof" is the moving story of Tevye, a poor Jewish milkman, and his family in the village of Anatevka, Russia in 1905. This play (a musical) was first performed on broadway in 1964 and has been revived many times, in addition to being made into a movie. Tevye and his wife Golde have five daughters, and the main plot revolves around the marriage of the three eldest daughters, named Tzeitel, Hodel, and Chava. Some of the music is probably familiar even to those who don't know musicals, including "Sunrise, Sunset" and "Matchmaker, Matchmaker." Although it has many hilarious moments, the main thrust of the story is a sad one because the Russians expel the Jewish villagers from their home and they must become strangers in a strange land. I appreciate the library binding of the copy I purchased, because it is durable and will protect this relatively old book so that I can enjoy it for many years. If you have any interest in Judaism or Jewish life as lived in 1905 Russia, I strongly urge you to get a copy of "Fiddler on the Roof" for yourself -- and you may want to get a copy of the music, too!
Wicked / Son of a Witch - Leather Bound By Gregory Maguire - GOOD

    Great book, and leatherbound, too!
I read _Wicked_ a long time ago & loved it. When I saw a leatherbound copy that had not only _Wicked_ by its sequel, _Son of a Witch_, I didn't hesitate. I'm glad I didn't! This volume looks like new. Can't wait to read all about Elphaba again, then to read about her son.
