I bought this with the view of repairing, and if they were made with a better charging pin setup- like others that have a seperate pin, attatched to a lesd, before connecting to the motherboard, then they would be brilliant.
If buying one, I would suggest being very careful when connecting and disconnecting the charging unit, and to ensure you don't let that lead dangle to get tripped on, causing damage to the pin.
They appear to be a popular buy, so generally I would consider them exactly that.
The great thing that I do like about these HP Laptops, as well as their pc's is the built in recovery- press f11 , when starting up, and voila!- back to factory setup condition from its hidden partition.
Of course some other makes have similar backup, but I have found HP's particularly easy, for a novice, who finds problems occurring with putting on dodgy programs, or, surfing the web, I would recommend a HP.
If you have one with a charging problem, with the pin, then get it repaired by someone who knows what they are doing, and you will get much more use out of it- they need to be good at soldering, as these things are very delicate.
