Quality control not great, esp for battery operated part.
0 of 1 found this helpful Product only works using the a/c adapter. Does not work on batteries at all. (And yes, I did pull out the little plastic strip that goes between the battery post and the contact :)
Similar problem with the identical unit I bought a few months ago. The battery compartment lid was actually glued on the previous one. I chiselled it off and put 2 new rechargeable in right from new, now that one works on both a/c or battery.
Just seems like the quality control is lacking on these
