If you loved the Mega Drive sequels, this is an obvious one to play!
Always loved the Ecco games, never really could play them due to their quite unique gameplay, but for some reason, while most games like these leave me with utter frustration and possibly hate, in Ecco's case, there is only love.
As for the Dreamcast version, as of 2013, please do not be fooled by some still images from the game you may find in some reviews. They don't give the game justice. You gotta see this world they created moving, it's so much alive, that not counting the non-existent pixel shaders (as around 2000 they just weren't there yet), it is pretty much up to today's standards.
Gameplay wise not much have changed, and what did, makes it better. It is easier, and more logical than the older games, and way less times you are gonna feel you are left alone in nowhere, with no info what to do exactly. And simply, exploring to find out what to do has never been better, with this atmosphere the game creates.
The music is nice, i personally love the bit raw sounding Mega Drive music better, but it is certainly not bad by any means. Also changes according to the situations you are in quite well.
Good controls, with minimal learning curve.
A very long game, even if you know what to do, it will take months to complete.
We need more games like this, to be honest we need a new Ecco game to begin with, but until then here is a beautiful Dreamcast game! As a Sega collector, i'm very happy to have it in my collection.

Everything i imagined it to be!
It looks robust, but weights nothing. The almost all around rubbery surface is a bit of a dust trap unfortunately, but oh well, it is great to the touch. The tip mechanism immediately feels higher quality than the Bamboo Create's tip i've used for years, has almost no tilt to it, and pushes in way better for precise work.
