Awesome little mixer
5 of 6 found this helpful So, after a nearly 20 year hiatus from DJing I have started to do it again. CDs and mix tapes were the mainstays of my old archaic system, and through the years I've always had one righteous garage stereo. So, when my niece a hearing some stories from 'back in the day' I dusted off the old home-made subs, pulled the the old towers off their perches, grabbed my trusty old amps and mixer and we were off to a wedding. The CD player fought a valiant battle that night, and my old mixer gave all she had. My makeshift lights tried their hardest to make the whole night. All said and done it was a success, but with casualties. My mixer had dropped a channel in the last hour, and there were funky smells and sounds coming from the rack. So I searched, and read reviews and searched some more. It seems that DJing is a bit of a dying art form in my neck of the woods and honest to goodness big in your face DJ setups are rare. So I set out to build up a respectable system. 4 amps with peak combined wattage of 20,000 watts, a sonic maximizer, a new dual CD player, a pair of Rockville 18" subs a pair of Rockville 12" PA's to sit on top of them, a pair of grindhouse 15" dual towers, 2 sets of GLI 12" pa speakers with stands later I find myself missing one last piece. The steering wheel for this thing. I ran across this Rockville rdj2 and thought..eh for $50 it'll do til I find a real mixer. Out of the box it looked kinda unassuming, but once I hooked it up I realized this little box is no joke. Silky smooth sliders, responsive control knobs, nice sturdy switches. You can have 4 inputs plus it plays mp3s off a memory stick. Also a mic jack and switched headphone jack for cueing. No loud flashing lights, no weird feedback. This little critter is my favorite piece of the whole puzzle. Get it, you won't be disappointed.

Mackie Thump 12
Good speakers. I have 4 of them matched up to 2 Mackie Thump 18 subs, I mount them on double stands on top of sub poles. They look and sound great and make a nice compact setup that has some power.

Sturdy amp
5 of 5 found this helpful So I've had one of these in my amp rack for going on 2 years now.. I figured I would write a review. I have absolutely no complaints and no regrets. I'm a mobile DJ and I have run 6-8 speakers at high volumes for 6-8 hours at a time several weekends a month for 2 years. Never has faltered, gotten hot, made strange noises, nothing. This is a good solid amp. If it ever goes out I'll buy another one.
