Not sure what is going on, but the sound is horrible. I have own (2) in the past and have used for years and the sound was GREAT. Maybe it's just a lemon.

One one issue with the Otterbox Defender Case

It's similar to the others but its lacking one important thing. It does not come with the magnetic cove and if you put the cover on and forget to turn it off the battery runs out and it get really hot. I called Otterbox and they confirmed that they declined to add that feature to the Air and above. Get a different case if you want auto shutoff.
