Badly manufactured plug

I usually buy £1 extension cables for headphones in my studio as clients keep breaking them. I thought I'll buy a better one so it lasts longer. It doesn't. Bought it twice. Both times the tip of the jack came off and stayed in the socket. So I guess I'm back to £1 cables again for headphones. The cable itself is great quality and performs well. There's not a clip, static or any distortion. It would be a great product I'd buy if the plug problem would be sorted.
