Ideal air vent for zone 1 situations
Easy to install and works perfectly. If using it as a replacement for an old model it would be worth checking the size if you are not redecorating anyway. Old versions needed a larger square hole to accommodate the motor but this model only needs a central hole to take the ducting, a much better design but may require some filling in of older larger holes.I had to use some pvc trim to cover the edges of the old hole.
My old air vent was a 240 v model fitted over the bathroom basin which was fine until I made alterations to the bathroom and fitted the bath/shower unit below the vent. My electrician advised that this meant that the vent position is now in zone 1 and as such required a safer 12 v air vent.
This is exactly what the VA100SVXH12 is designed for. The product consists of the air vent and the transformer. You need to fit the cables between the two, in my case siting the transformer in the loft. If you can wire a plug, you can wire up this air vent.

Superfast delivery and works a treat
I replaced the normal NTE5A master socket with this product as I wanted to hardwire an ADSL connection to an extension. The Post Office told my aunt that she had to have her router plugged into the master socket which was in her kitchen the other side of a big double oven. Not surprisingly the Wi-Fi signal to the lounge was non existent.
I simply removed the two line wires (blue) leading to the extension and reconnected them to 2 and 5 on the back of the faceplate. I used two spare wires (green) and connected them to A and B on the faceplate then connected the other end to an extension that I could plug the router into. Worked first time. An added benefit was that another extension on route could now show Caller Display Identification whereas previously it could not. Something to do with the filtering in the faceplate I would guess. All this and the product arrived the day after I ordered it - what more could you want?
