Gone through so many amp vintage and modern valve and transistor.
Finally found a well built transistor amp that matches and is more controllable than its valve competition.
The latter teal 112 solo bandit is a stonking well engineered amp that provides every shade of grit and distortion that sounds valve like in break up.
This designed morphed into the transtube amp series which are good but light and plasticity compared to the solid build quality of this amp.
Also great for acoustic guitars as well.

1sr Review Fender Champ 50XL
Off the back of other positive reviews of this amp, particularly Anderson’s review, I took a gamble and purchased this amp. It was worth the gamble.
Although a little plasticky and doesn’t come with a middle tone control, the amp tones are warm crisp and very useable, especially on the clean/crunch settings.
Some excellent shimmering tones with added dirt/overdrive can be found without much effort.
Complemented by a vintage Celestiion speaker and some not over the top useable effects.
Even managed to get a half decent electro acoustic sound from the clean channel.
Lots of volume from amp, more than adequate for a small to medium sized venue.
Not as sophisticated or versatile as the Boss Katana amp but if you want something thats a great sound out of the box amp this is it.
