Expensive but succeeds where alternatives fail.
Finding a dog guard that actually fits a Civic Tourer properly isn’t easy. Don’t believe claims made for generic products; in my experience, due to the car’s shape, they can leave gaps sufficient for a small and determined dog to get through.
The build quality of this is excellent, as you would expect from a genuine Honda product but the cost is several times more than generic alternatives.
On the up side, the guard can be left in place and doesn’t interfere with the folding down of the back seats or removal of the parcel shelf (although the latter is fiddly). On the down side, if you’re looking for something that you can put in and take out regularly, then forget it; both of these operations require a spanner and someone climbing in the boot to accomplish them.
In summary, expensive and a bit of a fiddle to fit, but does the job unlike cheaper alternatives.
