Would audition other makes before making a purchase
The noise cancelling is not as dramatic as you might anticipate, it's more noise reduction. Voices can still be heard and other low frequency sounds albeit at a reduced level. Playing music through them is good but not exceptional compared to other headphones without the noise cancelling feature. I found that positioning on the ear was critical especially on the right where the noise reduction frequency is generated, I assume. Just turning my head or yawning induced a low frequency reverberation around the ear pad. On airplane flight they do give the best results reducing the engine noise by about 90% although as I have said voices can be heard muffled. I think that they are overpriced for the claims that are made. Sound quality is ok but I was left slightly disappointed given the hype about them.
