This is not a miniature tripod as its nearly 2 feet long when collapsed, but so what, its no problem to carry with a bag or strap. Multiple leg segments are a pain when you try to extend a very small tripod to a reasonable size. I chose this tripod because it is very stable and easily moved ( I don't go up mountains looking for rare birds etc so will only carry it for a mile or so. Each leg has 3 leg segments with 2 flip locks (I prefer this style of locking, its quick and much easier than twist lock). 3 segments means 2 flip locks, makes it much simpler to set up and adjust. The ball head is fine and has a double safety lock on the camera plate - nice touch. The central extension can be set to work horizontally for food or close up shots from above. There is a hook to hang a weight if required (its got to be very windy to move this tripod), Also there is also a clip to connect a carry strap. Rubber feet are fine - don't scratch.
