Useful source of hard to find ceramic E27 lamp holder.
E27 lamp holders of this pattern usually have a limited life and frequently fail because the outer metal threaded ring comes loose from the ceramic, and can't easily be staked back in again. They are used in items like carriage lamps, disco lighting (PAR38), and also R63 and R80 ceiling spot fittings which are no longer available even though the lamps are, and to change just one might spoil a set, leaving one with an ugly GU10 converter adapter.
This supplier is a useful source of such lamp holders especially given that CPC have now stopped selling this standard ubiquitous European / American item. The price is right given the other options, and I am keeping one in stock to mend items such as the above. I used my last one to do an emergency repair on an outdoor carriage lamp fitting.
As regards the endemic failure of this generic type of fitting I would recommend keeping the weather out of the fitting; fitting long life lamps etc. etc. whilst low energy lighting can also only improve the situation with its limited power dissipation.
I would recommend this supplier as being good value for money and one of the few current suppliers of E27 ceramic lamp holders available, whilst the lamp holder is as good as E27 ceramic lamp holders get and can certainly be used for a like-for-like replacement/ repair.

Thick and strong: you get what you pay for.
Thick and strong, not to be confused with the myriad of thinner products. More mats in the set than the cheaper types. The mats are of a useful size.

A genuine VW/ Audi valve may be better. I have not run this valve for very long so cannot say how it actually performs, but it certainly fits OK and looks as if it is the right part. I cannot comment on what is inside it and exactly how its performance in use might vary from the OEM part.
