By and large, a good thing.
Very useful to keep a tuner clamped on to the fiddle (just left of the fingerboard) where it's easily checked but not in the way. It reads very easily and precisely. Slight snag: when in the case, the buttons can get pressed accidentally, which can turn it on (wasting battery), make it read upside down, and change the pitch setting.
