Dogs CAN hear it, I dont think it would stop a charging dog though
I bought it because our second adopted dog was teaching our quiet well mannered dog to bark. Our first dog tends to screech and run to us when the fire alarm goes off.
When I got it I pressed the button secretly and they both turned around, I heard no noise myself. When I pressed it again my smaller dog began yelping and ran to us, we questioned whether it was causing them harm. WARNING: This can cause hearing loss if used for prolong times according to many studies (as loud sounds do to humans as well)
When my dogs begin barking and I press it they do stop and turn to look at me but I doubt it would stop a charging dog. I also tried it on my neighbors dog, every time we go outside he starts barking so I pressed the button and he would stop.

Very bright for such a tiny flashlight
Using a simple AA battery and having only 1 cree led it serves ANY basic duty

Started jamming after a week then handle broke
