Valentine's gift
I bought this book for my husband for Valentine's Day, since it's about a bird dog, and my husband is a bird hunter with his canine sidekick. He said it was an extremely good book, not just about the dog Colter, but also about the bond a hunter feels with nature and his dog. He has tried to explain the feeling of being alone with his dog in the fields in early morning, but I just didn't get it. Now that I've also read the book, I do.

Always riviting
I think I have read almost every Tami Hoag book written, and this one doesn't disappoint. The characters are complex, the story line is suspenseful, and as usual, the ending has a surprising twist. Hoag's books are not happily-ever-afters, but most of life isn't, and her books tackle issues everyone faces.
