Purchase Price Made It A Bargain
2 of 2 found this helpful I paid 34-99 pounds for this machine which was excellent value. But there was one big problem that buying this machine through direct-vacuums listed on Ebay was not what it seemed. On it's first full use there was a smell of burning rubber. The directions & paperwork supplied gave customer care details & contact details all from Hoover. When I contacted Hoover I spoke to a very nice & helpful lady who told me what was probably the cause, but made it clear that products brought through direct-vacuums on Ebay were not covered by them.
I have no problem with that, but surely the Hoover customer care paperwork should be replaced by direct-vacuums customer care details so that the purchaser has the correct contact details.
The rubber smell came from the rubber belt driver which when adjusted was perfect as advised by the very helpful Hoover lady.
