Easy to use, but no viewfinder.

I bought this as an alternative to my DSLR. The image quality is very good as you might expect from a Leica. The controls and fixed focal length lens reminds me of how cameras were in my younger days. I enjoy the simplicity and compactness of thi camera and carry it around all the time. An electronic viewfinder would be a useful extra.

So many features in a small package

I've been using this camera for a couple of weeks now. Previously I had been using an E5, which I still own, and was extremely pleased with the results. The E-M1 leaves the E5 standing. I am still finding new features and settings all the time. The instruction manual is just satisfactory for such a complex camera, but I bought Darrell Young's book " Mastering the Olympus OM-D E-M1" which I think is a must if you have this camera. I also bought the mmf 3 adaptor so I could use my four third lenses. Whilst it fits perfectly it's a bit plasticy and I'm not sure if I could trust it with my 50-200mm SWD on the E-M1.

Much better than the instruction manual

If you have the OM-D E-M1 this book is essential reference reading. I found out about so many features, some of which are hidden, and how to use them effectively. The book is well written and easy to find your way around. The content is based on the experience of someone who has been using and experimenting with this camera for a very long time. It could save you hours of frustration.
