True Imperfect Ace.
2 of 2 found this helpful This was a happy recommendation from a friend who saw it on TV originally. Great! It is fascinating to see the ways in which a spy can have so much influence in world events. The series depicts the virtues and vices of such a person, and the leveling influence he exerts on people in power who have comparable virtues and vices. One can easily see the need of such covert operations just by realizing the stilted ways many people in power act. This series allows one to see the imperfections of this world counterbalanced by covert operations of imperfect agents. It's an imperfect world, fascinating though it is.
The series is presented in a completely believable manner, with period authenticity, and with very intelligible dialogue. Highly recommended novelized production, which also includes a true documentary of the known facts about Reilly.

Political manipulations
Todays self-serving tales disseminated by persons in political power motivated me to review the Watergate affair again. This movie shows some effects of the manipulations of power in the highest office of the land.
One can only wonder how politicians are more effective today at combatting news investigations. This movie, based on facts, brings vividly to mind the effects of misuse of power.
