Great Valley Road of Virginia
Growing up in Virginia, it was always understood that the Commonwealth had extraordinary natural resources, second to none. The Shenandoah Valley, in particular, is a site which must be beheld to be believed. At the same time, it is more than just a breathtaking panorama - for from its fertile soils and forests a nation was born. The valley road, which once was merely an Indian path, is indeed, one of the most picturesque drives in America, regardless of the season. When I discovered the release of this new book, I decided that I just HAD to have it - and, I must say, it has more than met my expectations. Having recently made the drive up and back on Interstate 81, the book provides background, history and photography to further illustrate the impact of this great national treasure - the Shenandoah Valley of Virginia.
