Classic Hard Rock/AOR from England
I didn't even know about these guys until very recently. Dare are an English rock band who started in 1985 and have 10 albums. Led by former Thin Lizzy Darren Wharton, Dare has a more classic hard rock guitar sound not unlike Thin Lizzy and the more Celtic underpinnings of Gary Moore, which is very apparent on this album. The production and musicianship is top-notch, with guitar solos that are exciting without being overly flashy. The singing is lower register and kind of reminds me of David Gilmore of Pink Floyd. While they rock, they also have an oddly soothing sound to them which is very refreshing to listen to. I find listening to Dare to be very relaxing and fun at the same time. Their sound could be summed up as a sort of classic hard rock/AOR with intelligent and introspective lyrics. Highly recommended!

Remastered Version of Deep Purple's 1987 Album
Following up 1984's fantastic and successful 'Perfect Strangers' was a tough act to follow, but Purple does a respectable job with this album. Very 80s' for sure with slick production, synths, faster songs, and a bit of that 80's hard rock vibe; but still very Deep Purple. Highlights include: Bad Attitude, The Spanish Archer, and Dead or Alive; though these aren't the only good tracks. I think side two is better than one in my opinion. The songs are good and musicianship is good (Ritchie does not disappoint and has some great riffs and solos). Is this one of the best Deep Purple albums? No, but its not bad and definitely has some great moments. Not as good as 'Perfect Strangers', but still a good hard rock album. I like the production and I think that the SHM format really boosts the sound and makes this album sound even better.

Melodic Metal with Female vocals
Killer album, great production, musicianship, and very catchy hooks. Basically power metal mixed with pop metal, female vocals, and great guitar solos.
