Complicated, but enjoyable
2 of 2 found this helpful I have enjoyed Avalon Hill games since my childhood in the 60s. Yet, I did not buy this game when it came out. A friend told me about it,and I decided to look for a used copy, as it is out of print. The game is very detailed and the armor properties are well thought out. The game mechanics are a bit cumbersome and it requires a lot of table checking, back and forth. But, it is the kind of thing I like. So, I recommend it to the WWII buff, who demands realism and accuracy. I still prefer a great miniatures simulation, e.g. Final Combat. But without an opponent, this solitaire board game fits the bill.

A Big Disappointment
This mat is very disappointing. It has a thin paper backing with an almost sandpaper finish on the straw side. I bought this to use with war-games, but it will fail the durability test straight away. My advice for anyone thinking this mat is your answer to reconsider.
