Not a very bright idea
These lamps are not bright enough at 300 lumens 800 lumens = an old 60 watt light bulb. So if these lamps were 400 lumens they would be half the brightness of an old 60 watt light bulb but hey are only 300 which is basically 25% less than 30 watt light bulb. Also note that one wax candle = 12 lumens.

Very bright torch! It generates a fantastic amount of light.
This torch is superb. It takes four 1.v batteries and generates a fantastic amount of light. Just two settings bright and super bright. There is no strobe which is great for me as I do not see the point of a strobe which would drain the battery very fast. The last thing you would want to do if you were lost on a mountain is drain your torch flicking through a strobe setting every time you turn it on.
