Wonderfully entertaining, underrated musical!
What a delightful time capsule back to the 1920's, when DeSylva, Brown and Henderson were adding mightily to what we know now as The Great American Songbook. Gordon MacRae and Dan Dailey are the perfect leading men for a musical, but the real surprise is Ernest Borgnine -- he was terrific in this new genre (for him). Sheree North is adorable and dances up a storm. A most enjoyable way to spend two hours!

Pretty good Fox musical, which would be (better) remade as HELLO, FRISCO, HELLO.
Predecessor to Fox's later "HELLO, FRISCO, HELLO" which also starred Alice Faye and Jack Oakie playing essentially the same roles they do here (with John Payne in for Warner Baxter). While I still prefer FRISCO, which I think has better music and character development (and for its more glamorous 1890's resetting and sumptuous Technicolor), it is interesting to see this as a companion piece -- and anything with Alice Faye is always worth seeing.

Good CD of better Kander & Ebb musical revue
A terrific cast performs an abbreviated version of a Kander & Ebb musical revue. I was surprised that several songs and musical sequences from the stage version have been eliminated, however.
