Blaze Foley Lives!
This is an interesting film about a not-so-well-known Texas singer/songwriter. Blaze wrote some beautiful tunes, several covered by bigger names, but his life was a bit of a forlorn mess. His untimely death was just the final punctuation to a convoluted story. It is based on the book by his widow entitled “Living in a Tree In The Woods”. The acting is very good, and Ethan Hawke brought the film to production. To fans of the Texas singer-songwriter tradition or fans of just flat out sad tales, this might be worth a watch. Finally, the DVD received was new and arrived in great shape.
