Very good! Can't go wrong with this one!

Thorough information on traveling by rail; central Japan is well-covered as well as Tohoku (the region north of Tokyo). Not enough detail on the northern island of Hokkaido.

Great opera!

This opera has unusual and memorable music, as well as a story that resonates. Aleksis Kivi is about the conflict in 19th century Finnish literature between broader European culture & Finnish culture; the story can represent any other artistic conflict, such as those in 20th century Finnish music. The story pattern is also applicable to artists elsewhere. In short, Einojuhani Rautavaara has used a specific, local story to communicate a universal truth. Don't miss it!
