Work horse
3 of 3 found this helpful In practical application this CPU was capable of converting two 120 minute Blue Ray movies simultaneously to H.264 files at 6.5GB each in just 27 minutes. During this conversion each instance was running at 116 frames per second and each instance only used 34% of PC resources totaling 68% which left room for surfing the net while running office programs and still only pushing 80% processing power. This CPU will last me a very long time before it can no longer keep up.

The Best consumer class CPU money can buy
1 of 1 found this helpful I have this CPU with a Corsair H60 watter cooler and it idles in the 30's C, and at full load it runs at about 58C. I have it overclocked to 4.0Ghz which was killer easy with my Asrock Fatility Pro M Z77 board. Coupled with 16GB of 2133Mhz G-Skill mempry clocked to 2133Mhz, Radeon HD7950 W/ 3GB GDR5, Plextor 256GB SSD, and a Seasonic 660Watt 80+ Platnum. The System uses only 107 Watts an hour with normal tasks, and maxes out at 283 Watts while gaming and using pandora. Uses only 3 watts when sleeping. WEI 7.8, 7.9, 7.9, 7.9, 7.9 (Windows 7 Ultimate 64Bit). Cinebench R10/ 27803.
