Good headphones, but not great
Pros: Build quality, ease of use
Neutral: Sound quality, comfort
Cons: Audio interference with 2.4Ghz wifi, price
I had very high expectations for these headphones and was slightly disappointed when I finally listened to them . The sound quality is ok, but I expected them to sound great at this price point. For reference, I am coming from using ATH-M50s headphones so my standard for audio quality is higher than if I were coming from Skull Candy or other more common brand. I did not expect them to sound as good as my m50s but I did expect them to sound better than they do. If I listen to them for a day or two, its not as noticeable but use my audio technica headphones its night and day. Also, I did not notice a big difference in bass output, which was disappointing since I thought these would emphasize deeper bass.
The clamping force is quite strong so I am hoping they will loosen over time. They are also quite heavy. The earcups get hot rather quickly so I take breaks every 15-30 minutes to cool down. Since I use these at work, this is not a problem since I need to take breaks to take phone calls or discuss projects.
I had and issue with my LG V20 and 2.4Ghz wifi. This issue was less noticeable with an older phone I had lying around and did not happen with my 5ghz wifi at home.
These headphones are built like a tank. Lots of metal and heavy materials. I am confident they will not break anytime soon but there is an impact on comfort as mentioned earlier.
Overall, these are not bad headphones but are not great either. I purchased them for $100 and I would not pay any more than that given the issues I had with them.
