Old fashioned nostalgia for a child.

I remembered this being striking in my childhood, but could not bring back any details. Reading it now, I can't see why it affected me so much. The stories are very simple and the characters are basic - maybe it was just the name that impressed me as a six year old - Semolina Silkpaws. And I was mad about cats.
