Not a lot for the money
0 of 2 found this helpful First time I've bought this. It may well do a good job as others report - it's too early for me to tell. I was surprised to see how little you get - a little stub about 1.5cm long - the rest is an empty plastic handle. There's no 'magic' ingredients - it just contains mineral oil, which you could wipe on yourself with a cloth. I get the feeling you're paying more for a brand name with this. I note there are similar, cheaper, unbranded products which may do the same job. I'll probably try these in the future.

Rocket sax stand
Somewhat disapointed with this stand. The upright with the two padded holders are not entirely symetrical with each other and with the stand base (it looks slightly crooked) suggesting it has been welded quickly without care and attention.
The holding rings are padded with a nice soft foam but on the lower one the weight of the sax seems to push the foam back along the bar meaning the sax is now resting on a hard plastic end piece and the bare bar.
The centre of the base unit which the legs attach to is cheap plastic and I would have liked this to be metal like the legs.

Water leaks from hose fitting which has a non-standard thread.
I had problems with the quick-lock hose fitting when setting up the Scarecrow - the supplied screw-in, male, quick-lock hose terminal didn't seal fully with my hose fittings. I have two hoses with different make hose-lock fittings. When the Scarecrow is connected to your hose and the water turned on the pressure builds up and gives at the weakest point - which turns out to be this connection. With one of my hoses the water squirted out everywhere around the join - the other hose made a better fit but water was still leaking out at this joint constantly and if you're on a water meter, like me, that's wasted water pouring into the ground 24/7 .
I rang the helpline for advice and whilst very friendly, they didn't really have a solution to this problem.
I took the scarecrow to a local plumbing merchant and we discovered the screw thread fixing the male hose-lock fitting to the scarecrow was non-standard - so I couldn't even replace the provided fitting with a good quality brass one.
The only option left to ensure a water-tight joint was to force the end of the hose over the male hose-lock joint and jubilee clip it tight - not ideal for quick removal and there's always the chance it might work free at some point but it worked.
The issue of the fitting being a non-standard thread also affects you if you plan to use two Scarecrows in parrallel, as the Scarecrow comes with a cap to block off the other side of the water entry fitting. This cap is removed when you want to connect another Scarecrow to the same water supply, and another male hose-lock fitting would be screwed in place. The problem is, a second male hose-lock fitting is not supplied with the Scarecrow and being a non-standard thread, it would be hard or impossible to find something that fitted in local stores. I don't know if you can buy these fittings separately from the company that supplies the Scarecrow.
