Seems like a Good Value
Easy to use. Not as raspy as I'd like, but I won't really know how well it works till I try calling ducks with it.

Experimental Modification to Penn Fierce II
I can't fairly rate this product yet, but will update it after some use. I didn't use it as intended; I modified the parts to fit a Penn Fierce II. So far so good -- the drag feels smooth and possibly stronger (but didn't test the amount of force it was resisting.) I don't know what negative effects the modification may have had...yet.

Multiple Problems
The device couldn't properly detect the wiring. After some Google research, it seemed it was a bad backplate. Google graciously replaced it for free. After using the new baseplate, the thermostat did detect the wiring. I had to charge the unit overnight on a USB cable.
The unit worked for about four hours before disconnecting.
After more Google research, the battery was likely bad.
At that point, I just returned it. The low price wasn't worth the hassle; I should have just bought a new one in the first place.
The return was mostly easy, so at least that's a positive.
