First choice for learning Spanish as an adult.
I reviewed Michel Thomas' tv programme, now on Youtube, in The Guardian in 1997, and we became friends. His approach works brilliantly in Spanish, exploiting the regular features in the language and making them clear to English speakers at a sensible pace. I'm less keen on his French and German, as it does not quite get to the essentials, but applications to a range of other languages, including Greek, Arabic and Mandarin, have been brilliantly successful. I learned Spanish via this resource, and am now buying it to use with my pupils.
