DMC counted cross stitch kit Dawn Alert with Rabbits 14 count aida 12 x 8"

Caught short...
Sadly this cross stitch didn't live up to expectations as a number of threads ran out prior to my completing the picture, and I had to rob threads from an old cross stitch that I'd previously had left over. Very disappointing

2001 BTCC will blow your socks off
(beth11dog's son writes:) Brilliant bumper to bumper season review of the 2001 BTCC championship. This remains one of the closest seasons there has been in the modern BTCC era and fanatics will love this review, which incorporates the best race footage from every round filmed by BBC's Grandstand. There were plenty of thrills, spills and dramas across the season, both on and off the track. The in-car footage is excellent, with a variety of angles and perspectives. Included on the DVD review are extra features, like 2001 driver biographies and the brief history of the championship years from 1958 - 2001. I would recommend this DVD without hesitation.

The usual hijacking of history or good Hollywood fare?
Whenever anyone offers a critique of a film, they usually come at it from a particular viewpoint. I'll get mine out of the way. It's the actor Robert Douglas. Now I've got that off my chest, I'll try and be objective. The Region 2 DVD has I understand been compared to other pressings, but at least for quality of picture and sound I have absolutely no complaints. Extras however, I understand are lacking in this version, but then that becomes a critique of the pressing and not of the film itself. I had not seen this film before, and obvious distractions apart, I really (truly) enjoyed it. I can't believe it came only a year after Warner Bros' King Richard & The Crusaders, which compared to this, displayed over-acting of the worst kind, especially in an historical vehicle. This 20th Century Fox production was vastly superior. Coming from the UK we treat our history with respect (and accuracy) but even I was quite prepared to accommodate what historical "additions" there were. The actors also seemed quite at home, and as always a good supporting cast made all the difference. No film should rely on its leading stars to carry it anyway. This type of film will never appeal to a really wide audience, though in its own time (1955) it probably still held some genuine sway. But that would n't be a good reason not to watch it now. Even "wet afternoon" fillers have their value, but I'd give more credit to it than just that, though today's younger generation might disagree. So is it just for the oldies, or those of us who aspire to have lived during the Classic Hollywood Age? Well, although it might not still hold it's own I suppose, it should perhaps be only watched by connoisseurs or devotees anyway. Still, those youngsters who might like to see what Joan Collins looked like in her youth, could benefit from tuning in. And for me? Well, Robert Douglas was still looking devastating in 1955, but the one scene in pale blue doublet and hose (verging on medieval hot-pants) was a close call in the taste stakes !! Oh, and Bette Davis? Well, what can I say? Anyone prepared to suffer the ignominy of such unflattering make up and let her acting do the talking....... Well, what do you think?
