1986 FLEER BASKETBALL #26 CLYDE DREXLER RC HIGH GRADE
08 Apr, 2017
1986 Fleer Clyde Drexler RC
Although the Star company made an earlier card of "The Glyde," this remains his quintessential rookie from the, now classic 1986 Fleer set. With its red border, these cards are prone to corner and edge chipping and centering issues also abound. Although the Jordan is out of most collector's price range today, the other HOFers remain relatively affordable in high-quality examples. Just look carefully and try to find nicely centered examples with sharp corners!
Walk a Mile in My Shoes: Essential 70's Masters

Elvis Essential 70s Masters is Essential Listening
Although I was born in October 1978, over a year after Elvis passed away, my mother was a huge fan of his music, and she had several of his 1970s albums. I can remember listening to them on our old RCA stereo record player. I particularly recall the Moody Blue album, the last released in Presley's lifetime. I remember the unforgettable sound of that unique voice and the blue vinyl. Although many casual listeners dismiss this period as the era of excess and decline, I argue that Elvis never sounded better than he did in the 1970s, and particularly, from about 1970-1974, although his voice remained consistent until the end. My favorite Elvis album has always been "That's the Way It Is." The album serves up several top-notch studio covers of popular songs of the day along with several fantastic live versions from the early 70s Vegas shows. The same can be said of this set. It contains a fantastic assortment of singles, essential album tracks, alternate takes, rehearsals, and an entire disc of live material. This boxed set covers this forgotten and often overlooked era with all of the expected classics, along with the cream of the crop of top notch Elvis album cuts. Although a few omissions occur, overall, this is a fantastic representation of his 1970s output and the sound quality is phenomenal. Although the original packaging is probably superior, mainly because the liner notes are much easier to read, the downsized version I purchased is more compact and easier to store. If you are beginning an Elvis collection or if you are a long-time fan like myself, this set is essential. Many of the lesser - known songs surprised me and, as always, even if you have heard other recordings of the same material by other artists, when you hear an Elvis version, you realize why he was such an innovative and important performer. In my opinion, Elvis was the best pure singer America ever produced. He was equally adept at singing rock, soul, r & b, blues, country, gospel or anything else thrown his way. This interpretive power to wrap his magnificent voice around any kind of song makes him clearly stand head and shoulders above anyone else on the top of the musical pantheon. Now and forever, Elvis remains the King. In the words of John Lennon, "Before Elvis, there was nothing."

1975 TOPPS MOSES MALONE #254 ROOKIE PSA7 ? NEAR MINT WOW!
21 Mar, 2017
Moses Malone: Pride of Petersburg, VA
Moses Malone, the first player to successfully transition from high-school to NBA superstar, had one of the longest and most distinguished careers in NBA history. When he joined Julius Erving on the 76ers, he solidified their defense, gave them solid veteran leadership, and finally helped Philly secure an NBA Championship, in which he was named Finals MVP. The 1975 Topps Malone rookie can still be found at a relatively cheap price in raw form and, once graded, can prove a great investment and can bring top dollar in an 8 and above. Buy this rookie of one of the best scorers / rebounders in NBA history!
