my ground is too hard for this tool. I don't know what would work
Getting a new hole in some of my lot is almost impossible. This tool doesn't seem especially sharp, either when trying to cut through zoysia to get a new plug. I don't fault the tool, I fault the soil conditions and the tough zoysia. The zoysia is slowly spreading to where I want it, able to tolerate the thin layer of dirt above my subsurface clay,

better than the competing type
because it snaps shut in place far more securely than the gray, ovalish competitor, this device is far more likely to not be lost or displaced when it is needed.
