Great Entry Level Stone
If you are looking for an inexpensive start to knife sharpening this stone is an excellent choice. Did a great job on my first test knives.

Amazing detail, incredible realism, but takes a lot of work and concentration!
When I say it isn't durable I don't mean it's cheap or poorly made... I simply mean the parts are incredibly small and intricately detailed, and it's easy to break something, so be very careful ! It's impossible to get this kind of detail and true-to-scale size of parts in injection molded plastic, but the photo-etch brass really adds a 'kick' to the visual appeal. There is a certain leap of faith you need to take if you decide to use this kit... you have to (essentially!) scrape off, deface or destroy half of the plastic model kit you just spent over $100 for (usually) so they can be replaced by the photo-etch parts. But it's worth it in the long run for the realism and detail. Just make sure you have a great deal of patience and try to find one of the online video "builds" using this product, because there are some gaps in the instructions.

Glass whetstone sharpening system
$300.00 might seem like a bit much to spend for 3 stones and a holder, but it really is a complete system and has already put the best edge on some of my knives that they ever had!
