Speaker Repair Kit for JPW P1's
I bought this kit from Audiofriends, to refoam my JPW P1's that I'd owned from new but had boxed up many years ago because the rubber surrounds had perished away on the woofers. After doing a bit of research, I found this product on Ebay - it had been recommended on a number of hi fi forums. I was delighted with the quality of the surrounds - they are really well made and make a fine replacement, not too stiff, but strong enough for the job. They also came with a brush and a pot of glue - which was more than enough to refoam both speakers. All I needed to buy was some metholated spirit and I was away. I used Audiofriend's guide which really is brilliant - follow it carefully and you cannot go wrong. I was also unsure about a couple of things and Fred was so helpful and patient at answering my questions. I really can't praise Audiofriends and Fred highly enough.
What I would say is that this is a messy job and it takes time. You also need to have some clear space to work in and if you have pets or children, make sure they can't get to your work space. The perished rubber is very sticky and takes time to remove properly, but it's worth it. You need to be patient and careful, and follow the guide - don't cut corners or rush things. It took me all day to do both speakers. But be patient and you will be rewarded! I am so pleased with the result. My JPW's look brand new and they sound incredible. They won awards back in the day and knock spots of the Rogers speakers I bought to replace them.
So, I highly recommend this product, and the company. These surrounds are really high quality and the kit and the guide work as they should. And if you get stuck, Fred is great at providing support. 10 out of 10 for this. I hope you find the same!

Great Fridge for Camping!
4 of 4 found this helpful We bought this as we were getting tired of trying to keep things cool when camping. It's the first time we've had anything powered when camping and I have to say, I won't be going back. It was scorching hot in Norfolk in August and the Mobicool kept everything nice and cool, even in high heat - which is really impressive. No need to worry about milk or cheese going off! Plus it's big enough to cope with milk, juice, cheese, four beers, bottle of wine, butter, chocolate, fruit etc - for a family of five! The usb charger is a nice addition though the cover for it is quite fragile so treat it gently. The Mobicool is fan powered and this does make a noise - but this didn't bother us at all, and it was sited right next to our pod. The children couldn't hear it from there's. The Mobicool does produce water which collects in the bottom - not huge amounts but worth noting - I wouldn't put anything cardboard (egg box) in the bottom. I'd thoroughly recommend this product, it does exactly what it should do and is great value for money.
