Exactly what I need

This VCR has the TV Guardian feature, which mutes profanity and will also put context appropriate captioning when muting. I watch very little live tv, mainly watching back programs I've recorded. There are standalone TV Guardian units that will hook up to today's cable boxes and DVRs, but the newest models of TVGs don't have the captioning. So, you may have a 5-10 second mute with no sound and may not know the gist of what was said for context. I'm still satisfied with my good old VCR with TVG.

Seems to be okay.

Unit looked a little rough cosmetically, but as long as it's working that's what really counts. This was one of two of these that I bought. I'm currently using the other one, so, unfortunately I won't know how much good use I'll get out of it for quite some time. It played okay when I tested it though.
