The Human Comedy
This is one classic movie that I was happy to pay a premium price for. Watching THE HUMAN COMEDY is like watching a Norman Rockwell painting come to life. Oh sure, it can be a little melodramatic and sugary sweet, but sweetness is very nice sometimes. Funny to see some WWII soldiers (was that a young Robert Mitchum?) so excited just to be lightly kissed by a couple of local girls after a picture show. This movie has it all; nostalgia, music, family, wisdom, patriotism, sadness, joy. It's nice to see Mickey Rooney out of his Andy Hardy role. Also nice to see "Alfalfa" (from Little Rascals) having a small role -- he must be about 14 years old in this film. Overall, Excellent!
