lines and numbers are stamped in
1 of 1 found this helpful It is very convenient to measure length of spokes. The lines and numbers are stamped in- my old one is just like this one but the lines and numbers were painted and they worn off. This one should last for ever.

Pentel makes the best mechanical pencils that I know of and at a good price.
