great o/s easy install.
A huge step forward for MicroSoft. This operating system is intuitive and stable. This version is the installation, not the upgrade, therefore you're warned to back everything up. The good news is that even though programes aren't re0installed, the installation does not format the disk, it installs alongside XP so most of your data remains intact.

lovely fire, nice smell
this peat burns with a gentle glow rather than lapping flames like logs. It last surprisingly long with a gentle heat, not as intense as logs or coal.
It's clean to handle, bone dry, catches immediately.
the best part is the smell - brings back memories of days gone by.

Thinkpad T41:- Great machine
8 of 8 found this helpful I decided to update this review after 4 years !
It's now 7 years since I bought my first Thinkpad and that first one is still going strong. I've had to replace the keyboard for 2 keytops popping off but this is simple and the replacement only cost £10. Admittedly, it's been rebuilt a couple of times, that's an operating system problem, not hardware; good old MicroSoft.
Since then I've replaced a Siemens Fujitsu, a Dell and an Acer, all bought for family members with Thinkpads. T41's and T43's.
The Thinkpads are robust, over engineered, fast, reliable all round excellent work-horses. There's no fancy shiney designs, gimmicks, un-required add-ons etc, just raw, user-friendly functionality.
All the machines handle everything thrown at them effortlessly. Security and backup/ restore functionality is integral with "Access IBM".
All in all, a great choice of laptop.
