Good but not perfect
Good product. Works fine. However the raised plastic surface where the AC prongs come out destabilize the connection. An extension cord is probably needed and this can be risky in critical situations unless the two are taped together. I'm happy but be aware of this.

Yamaha S90ES - my dream keyboard
2 of 2 found this helpful The S90es is essentially a MOTIF minus sampling. Some of the great sounds include acoustic pianos, Wurlitzer electric pianos, several of the B3 sounds most often used in rock (888, Green Eyed Lady with 3rd harmonic percussion, full organ, . . . ), "Jump", thick strings that don't sound grainy, marimba and vibes, numerous analog synths, and on and on. . . Programming is highly tweakable and the Master Mode is great to simplify patch changes in live situations. The sounds are SO big that I cut some low frequencies with a bass eq pedal unless I'm playing alone (which is a good problem to have). I had a gig out of town and was able to email my patches to the rental company and they had "my' keyboard programmed and ready to go when I arrived. Although I've used some of the automation functions live, this is primarily a player's instrument with natural-feeling weighted keys. Action is a bit heavy for my taste and weighted keys can be awkward for organ solos, but this is a exceptional instrument with a huge number of pleasing bread-and-butter classic sounds, great durability/reliability (I bought it new ages ago, have never had to get it serviced), and very customizable patches and splits. I'm always finding problems with my gear but I've NEVER regretted purchasing this unit.

Hammond XK1c - Great Choice for Clonewheel
With a sound that equals or surpasses Nord, customizable organ sounds, good price, light weight, waterfall keys and a clean interface, the XK1c is a great choice for a dedicated clonewheel. For the price, there are inevitably tradeoffs, but no deal killers. It is not as "roadworthy" as some of my sturdier keyboards and the Leslie simulation is definitely a step below the Neo MiniVent. These are small compromises, though - this keyboard is a great value with great sound.
