Essential USB connector for a WD My Passport Studio drive
I bought the WD My Passport Studio drive for a Mac with a SCSI connection. When I upgraded my Mac 5, it had Thunderbolt instead of SCSI, so I had to use the USB connection on the WD instead. By that time I had given the WD cable to my daughter for some other device and used a generic one.
The USB contact on the WD was small and wobbly, and with a generic cable the drive proved unreliable and I stopped using it. I was about to throw it away when I saw this genuine cable and decided to try it. It fits the WD tightly and the drive works fine now on USB.
The cable is very good. The only slight difficulty is that it is quite difficult to remove, so I try not to.

Good quality pliers
These pliers seem very good and strong. The 45 degree nose is very useful- I should have bought some long ago.
I’ve only given them four stars because there is a small dimple in the jaws and they had some burrs which were easily removed but should not have been there.

Improves security and precision of rails in use
Good quality manufacturer's part for joining rails, which come from the manufacturer with one connector only. Though the expert at the tool shop assured me that only one was necessary, for a precision tool I feel much happier using two. With only one, there is a danger of getting a small kink at the join and of something getting damaged if a connected pair of rails gets kicked or lifted accidentally, or by someone who doesn't realise the connection is weak. Price high for what it is - but that is probably the manufacturer's responsibility.
