Old charts are great for general planning.
It’s hard to have too many charts. Most features haven’t changed, so old inexpensive charts are just the ticket for basic advanced planning- and a good backup if the modern Chartplotter dies for some reason.

Weems makes a straight forward tool
Even with a great electronic Chartplotter, it is still useful to have paper maps and this simple, small tool is great for charting on modest sized boats like mine
