Awesome tone on a budget
1 of 1 found this helpful Sort of in the vicinity of a Boss DS-1, definitely a good alternative and something different but still similar feeling. I was pleasantly surprised how nice it sounded, as well as with the level of gain it packs, and the low amount of noise. General consensus is that these Tone Lok pedals are not solid as a Boss pedal or the 9 Series Ibanez/Maxon pedals, and I would I agree based on initial impressions. I've also had a TS7 Tone Lok tube scream for years (bought it new way back when) and have never run into any problems with switch or knobs, but i could see it happening with heavier use. Buffered bypass is not bad at all, also comparable to Boss. Same bad deal if you run too many buffered pedals in a row but a few won't hurt (or even helps when your cable runs 20 feet). Like most any distortion put this early in the chain. You can get a boost type effect out of it, but it's better to use an actual boost pedal and let this one crunch.

Doesn't drop free
This mag is fine for range use but it doesn't drop free from the mag well like oem ones do.
