A great and more versatile alternative to Fender?
1 of 1 found this helpful The finish and set-up are both excellent, and the colour, binding and tortoiseshell scratch plate make for a good-looking guitar.
Being a semi-solid, it is less heavy than a solid body, which is easier on the shoulder, though it makes the guitar a little neck heavy - not as bad as an SG - but it is not really an issue.
The semi-solid body reduces the attack but introduces an open, airiness into the sound which
suits chords and makes for a mellow wash of sound with a chorus pedal.
The guitar is versatile with its two differing humbuckers and the vari-coil knob that gradually takes either pickup from humbucker to single coil.
I would have preferred a vari-coil control for each pickup. I also find the bridge pickup a little too hot for my taste, but lowering the unit away from the strings largely sorts that out.
Trev Wilkinson's Fret-King guitars represent great value for money and have good design features.
Don't just go for Fenders - try these. You won't regret it.

Versatile sounds and compact
This mini-pedal can do what would otherwise take four pedals, all twice the size of this one.
It is so versatile - I find that using different guitars requires a different type of phasing to suit the tone and output and this little unit achieves just that - with the minimum of space on the pedal board.
