Hefty Hatchet
I bought this model because of the hammer poll and the way head holds on by a taper eye. In my hands, this feels larger than the average American hatchet. The tool has more heft and has a longer handle. Unless size/ weight economy is a great concern; the larger size should be a benefit in wood cutting, hammering etc. The blade has a rough finish to it that could be sanded smoother if you do plan to do a lot of wood cutting. This hatchet should drive tent stakes effectively.

Solid, but hard to carry.
I thought I'd try a knife with a blade cover like this. The cover is nice and I don't think will damage the edge. It is tricky to put it in a tool pouch, holster etc. The lever on the cover prevents it from fitting without jamming the tip of the blade into the holster. Probably best for use at a table where it would rest in the open. Also, these knives used to be made in the USA, but this one was i. A bag marked Taiwan.

Compact and well built
These boxes seem to be durable and certainly do the job. I am also using a couple of these boxes to organize and store 1/4" hex insert screwdriver bits, which are held securely as well. The only thing that would make them better, in my opinion, is if they were made in the USA by Plano and embellished with some of their gold trim.
