Typical Apple: It. Just. Works. Try not to think too hard about the price.
Bought it for my 22 year old son, and he is well happy with it. Like most everything from Apple, a bit pricey but it just works.

Excellent sound quality and rock solid build quality, all in a very compact package.
1 of 1 found this helpful Excellent sound quality and rock solid build quality, all in a very compact package. The sound is very natural, meaning very little tweaking is needed in post processing. The built in pop filter works pretty well, although it is still a good idea to position it at a slight angle to the speaker's mouth to avoid the worst of the plosives.
The only reason it loses a star is the stand, which is way too small to bring it near the speaker's mouth, and lacks any kind of bump isolation. I have mounted it on a Tonor T20 mic arm, which works well.
