Don't know if it's authentic, but it sure looks authentic. Quality is up there with ones I see in local stores which I'm pretty sure are authentic. Nicely shaped, no flat spots except one ear has a bit too little stuffing but it still holds its shape. Surface is nice and soft and filling seems off good quality. Kids love it!

No better coaxials at this price. Smooth tweeters.
I've been in car audio for almost 3 decades. I've had and heard many brands, from entry level to high end. Do these Nakamichi coaxials rival Focal Utopias? No, but for the price, they're astonishingly good. At this price, most coaxials have plastic (PEI or mylar) tweeters that are poorly designed that result in harsh highs. The sound is overall imbalanced favoring exaggerated treble. The woofers also tend to be cheap, with resonant stamped chassis and uncontrolled breakup that can be heard at high volumes. These speakers have smooth silk tweeters that are not at all harsh. They're actually slightly laid back which is a great trait for long listening sessions, reminiscent of Morel tweeters. Having a pair of supertweeters had me concerned they'd be too harsh and forward, but that concern was quickly squashed upon first audition. The woofers provide good midbass with decent authority and smooth mids. The chassis is stamped, as expected from this price range, but it's ridged which adds rigidity. The magnet is a good size without being so large as to make install in most vehicles difficult or impossible. These easily compete with coaxials up to $200. At least than a quarter that price, that makes these an exceptional value.
